Direk Jun at Elijah thankful na patok sa Netflix at trending ang 'Kalel, 15'

MASAYANG-MASAYA ang writer-director pati ang lead actor ng award-winning movie na ‘Kalel, 15’ na sina Direk Jun Robles Lana at Elijah Canlas respectively, dahil mas marami na ang nakakapanood at nabibigyan ng aral ng kanilang pelikula nang ipalabas ito sa Netflix simula noong December 9. 

Nagpapasalamat din sila dahil nag-number one trending topic sa Twitter ang hashtag na #Kalel15onNetflix. Pumasok din agad sa Top 5 ang pelikula sa Top 10 Films in the Philippines sa Netflix sa unang araw ng pagpapalabas nito.

Post nga ni Direk Jun sa Twitter, "Halos walang nanood nito noong ipinalabas sinehan. Napakalaking  bagay para sa mga Kalel na nagbahagi ng kwento nila sa akin, na marinig at makita nyo sila, kahit sa maikling sandaling ito. Maraming salamat. #Kalel15onNetflix" 

Una itong ipinalabas sa mga sinehan sa Pilipinas noong Disyembre 18, 2019, isang linggo bago ang Metro Manila Film Festival. 

Ayon naman sa tweet ni Elijah, "I’m happy people have access to watch this important film. I’m grateful for this opportunity to help shed light on life with HIV. End the Stigma. Let’s help and care for each other. #Kalel15onNetflix"

Iniuwi ni Direk Jun ang Best Director award sa Talinn Black Nights Film Festival sa Estonia at Best Screenplay award naman sa 2020 Gawad Urian. Itinanghal na Best Actor si Elijah sa Asian Film Festival sa Rome at sa 2020 Gawad Urian. Best Editing award naman ang napanalunan ni Benjamin Tolentino sa Asia-Pacific Film Festival sa Macau. 

Siyam na nominasyon ang natanggap ng ‘Kalel, 15’ sa gaganaping FAMAS 2020 kabilang na ang Best Picture, Best Director at Best Screenplay for Direk Jun, Best Actor for Elijah, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Sound, at Best Scoring. 

Samantala, bukod sa ‘Kalel, 15’ tatlo pang proyekto ng The IdeaFirst Company ang mapapanood sa Netflix ngayong Disyembre - ang Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019 topgrosser na ‘The Panti Sisters’ (Dec. 10), award-winning 2012 Cinemalaya movie na ‘Bwakaw’ (Dec. 16), at hit Pinoy BL series na ‘Gameboys: Level-Up Edition’ (Dec. 30).
